Quick answers to the most common questions about our home care services, funding, and what to expect.
The first step is to get in touch with us for a free, no-obligation chat. We will listen to your needs, answer your questions, and arrange a home visit at a time that suits you. During the visit, one of our care coordinators will carry out a thorough assessment and work with you to create a personalised care plan. There is no pressure and no commitment until you are ready.
In many cases, we can begin providing care within 48 to 72 hours of your initial enquiry. For urgent situations, such as hospital discharge, we will do everything we can to arrange support as quickly as possible. Live-in care may take a little longer to arrange as we take care to find the right match.
We have two branches: one covering Northamptonshire (including Northampton, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Kettering, and Corby) and one covering Berkshire (including Bracknell, Wokingham, Reading, Windsor, Maidenhead, and surrounding areas). Enter your postcode on our website to find your nearest branch.
The cost of home care depends on the type and amount of support you need. We provide a transparent, detailed quote after your initial assessment. Our rates are competitive and reflect the quality of care we deliver, including fair pay for our carers, comprehensive training, and ongoing supervision. We are happy to discuss costs openly during your first conversation with us.
Yes, there are several funding options available. Your local council can carry out a financial assessment to determine whether you are eligible for funded or part-funded care. You may also be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare, Attendance Allowance, or Personal Independence Payment. We can guide you through the process and signpost you to independent financial advice.
Yes, we work with several local authorities across our coverage areas. If your care is funded or part-funded by your local council, we can accept the placement and work within the agreed care package. We also support clients who transition between council-funded and self-funded care.
All our carers undergo a rigorous recruitment process including enhanced DBS checks, reference verification, and right-to-work checks. They complete comprehensive induction training aligned with the Care Certificate standards, covering topics such as safeguarding, medication management, moving and handling, infection control, and person-centred care. Many of our carers hold or are working towards QCF qualifications in health and social care.
We understand the importance of continuity and do our best to ensure you are supported by a small, consistent team of carers. This helps build trust, familiarity, and a genuine relationship. If your regular carer is unavailable due to illness or holiday, we will introduce a replacement carer who has been briefed on your care plan and preferences.
Absolutely. We take great care to match you with a carer whose personality, skills, and experience suit your needs. If for any reason you feel the match is not right, simply let us know and we will arrange an alternative. Your comfort and confidence in your carer is our priority.
We offer a wide range of home care services including personal care, companionship, medication management, meal preparation, housekeeping, live-in care, overnight care, dementia care, palliative care, reablement, and specialist support for conditions such as Parkinson's, stroke recovery, and learning disabilities. We also provide children's care services.
Visiting care involves a carer coming to your home for scheduled visits throughout the day, typically ranging from 30 minutes to several hours. Live-in care means a carer moves into your home and provides round-the-clock support. Live-in care is ideal for people who need consistent, ongoing assistance and wish to remain in the comfort of their own home rather than moving to a care home.
Yes, we have specialist dementia-trained carers who understand the unique challenges of living with dementia. They are skilled in communication techniques, managing behavioural changes, maintaining routines, and creating a calm, safe environment. Our approach focuses on preserving dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Yes, both of our branches are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our inspection reports are publicly available on the CQC website. We are proud of our Good ratings and continuously work to improve the quality of care we deliver.
Quality is at the heart of everything we do. We carry out regular spot checks and supervisions, gather feedback from clients and families, conduct internal audits, and invest heavily in ongoing training for our team. Our care coordinators maintain close contact with clients and are always available to address concerns promptly.
We take all feedback seriously and have a clear, transparent complaints procedure. If you have a concern, please speak to your care coordinator or contact our office directly. We aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly. You can also provide anonymous feedback through our website. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate your complaint to the CQC or the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman.
Yes, we understand that needs change and schedules vary. We offer flexible care packages that can be adjusted as your needs evolve. Whether you need to increase, decrease, or temporarily pause your care, simply speak to your care coordinator and we will accommodate your request wherever possible.
We provide care 365 days a year, including bank holidays and Christmas. Your regular care schedule will continue as normal. We may apply a small supplement for bank holiday visits, which will be discussed with you in advance.
Your carer will bring their own PPE and any equipment they need. For live-in care, you will need to provide a private room for your carer and access to meals. For visiting care, there is nothing specific you need to provide, although a welcoming cup of tea is always appreciated!
Yes, we regularly support clients transitioning from hospital to home. We can arrange care quickly to facilitate a safe discharge, and our reablement approach helps clients regain independence and confidence after a hospital stay. We work closely with hospital discharge teams and social workers to ensure a smooth transition.
Our friendly team is here to help. Get in touch and we will be happy to answer any questions.
